Anxiety Grounding Technique

Do you suffer from daily symptoms of anxiety that leave you feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about the future? Does it feel, at times, that there is no light at the end of the “anxiety” tunnel? Do you suffer from chronic fatigue and negative thoughts throughout the day? Are there specific times or specific places when the anxiety feels more intense?

If so, give this technique a try…it will help guide your mind into a calmer state and can help you feel more connected and grounded with your body.

5, 4, 3, 2, 1…

First, take a deep breath in, hold it for a second, and slowly release… now repeat this 3 or more times.
Then…take a look around..

  • What are ​5​ things you can ​see around you​?
  • What are ​4​ things you can ​feel on your skin or within your body?
  • What are ​3​ things you ​hear?​
  • What are 2​ things you ​smell?
  • Now, what is ​1​ thing you can ​taste (or recently tasted that you enjoyed)?

Last…. breathe in once more, hold it for a second, and slowly exhale.
