Meet Kelly Kugler

Kelly Kugler is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a certified clinical supervisor in the state of Florida. She completed her bachelor’s degree at The Ohio State University and her master’s degree in counseling psychology at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Ms. Kugler started her professional career in child welfare and has more than 15 years’ experience working as a case worker and a supervisor in the child protection field. Her experience at the agency provided experience with at risk families, children who were removed and placed into foster care and children who were placed for adoption. This work included helping families change the behavior that led to removal, understanding how the removal affected the children, and assisting with adjustment back into the home or through the adoption process. It was while working with abused children and the families Ms. Kugler saw firsthand the shortage of qualified therapists who were willing to work with that population. Her work in this field was the drive she needed to complete her education while continuing to work full-time as a child welfare supervisor.

After completing her degree, she moved into community mental health working with children in an Intensive Therapy Onsite Services (ITOS) program. She also has experience working in a children’s group home, emergency shelter, an Intensive Outpatient Program for adults, a residential mental health program for teenage girls, a juvenile justice program and finally private practice.

Ms. Kugler uses a variety of approaches when working with clients. She has experience utilizing various therapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, expressive arts, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness and client centered techniques. Ms. Kugler has experience with clients who are five and older and with many different mental health conditions including anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, trauma, attention deficit disorder, chronic stress, relationship issues and more. She will work with you to identify your priorities for treatment and create a treatment plan to help achieve your goals.
